With permanent eyebrow makeup, your eyebrows will remain perfectly shaped, day in, day out. Whether you enjoy swimming, running or the gym, you'll never have to worry about your eyebrows rubbing off or losing shape as you live your life.

Applied using the award-winning Feathering Technique©, our permanent eyebrows set a new standard. Instead of the bold, unnatural lines you may be accustomed to, this technique applies individual long and short strokes that mimic your natural hair growth. In turn, your permanent eyebrows will look multidimensional, incredibly realistic and perfectly shaped.

During your session, Tina will redesign your eyebrows with cosmetic pencils, to let you visualize the different shapes that can be achieved. Then, permanent colour is applied by tattooing each hairstroke individually, slowly building up a design that looks authentic, natural and flawless (known as microblading). Where necessary the shading and machine methods may also be used to achieve the desired result.

Each design is bespoke to each client. Every set of eyebrows is tailored to the wearer's unique tastes, facial features and personality.

A deposit of $200 plus tax is required to book this service. The deposit is deducted from the final payment due after the procedure.

2 months after the initial procedure, we request that you come in for a follow-up appointment, to check on your healed results. This follow up is free of charge.

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a technique of cosmetic tattooing performed specifically on the eyebrows. Like earlier methods of cosmetic tattooing, it is done by manually depositing pigment into the second layer of the skin (dermis). But what makes it truly unique is the hand tool used. The unique formation of needles allows the artist to create the look of real eyebrow hairs by tattooing very fine hair-like strokes in the skin. A process called Shading uses a hand tool to deposit a more solid wash of pigment amongst the bladed hair strokes for a fuller, deeper look.

Do you have to shave off your eyebrows to get it done?

No! Microblading is done to enhance what you already have to make the eyebrows look as natural as possible. Microblading is a great solution for people who have over-plucked their eyebrows, or who have naturally very thin/light eyebrows and want to accentuate the look of eyebrows on their face. It is not necessary, nor recommended for a client to get rid of any natural hair he or she may already have.

Does Microblading Scar?

No. Microblading itself will not cause scarring. What can cause scarring after a microblading procedure is picking at the healing skin. This is why it is extremely important for you to NOT pick at any scabs or flaking skin after you’ve had a microblading procedure. Picking could result in the loss of pigment as well as scarring.

How "permanent" is it, anyway?

Permanent makeup is long lasting and can remain in the skin for 1 to 5 years depending on the colour, placement, and your skin type. The most effective and safe removal option is laser tattoo removal, offered by specialist. If you have existing permanent makeup and need corrective work, you will be advised of your best options. Tina Davies Studio does not perform laser, or any other variety of tattoo removal service.

Does it fade or require any maintenance?

Over time, your permanent makeup will fade due to many factors such as: natural skin exfoliation, sun exposure, medications and the use of creams/chemicals. To maintain the colour and shape it is advisable to touch up the treated area every 1 to 2 years. A good indication of needing maintenance is when you start having to add to your permanent makeup with pencil or other cosmetics.

Are there any risks?

Every cosmetic skin procedure involves a very small degree of risk and, although exceedingly uncommon, it is important that you understand and accept the rare risks involved with Permanent Cosmetic Makeup- these include possible infection, allergic reaction, improper placement, dissatisfaction with the result, permanency and difficulty of removal. An individual’s informed decision to undergo any cosmetic procedure is based upon a comparison of the risks to potential benefits, alternatives, and cost. We take every necessary step and precaution to minimize the risks associated with permanent makeup.

Is the procedure painful?

You may experience a minor and tolerable degree of scratching/pricking during the procedure. A topical anesthetic is used to reduce discomfort and promote relaxation. The treated area may be slightly tender immediately following the procedure. Tenderness will diminish within a few days post-treatment.

I already have permanent makeup from a prior procedure. Can it be improved or updated?

This will depend on the appearance and design of the previous permanent makeup and is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. You can send clear pictures to studio@tinadavies.com for analysis and we can give you a clean answer based on the pictures we receive, and follow up with a consultation if necessary.

Am I a good candidate?

Unfortunately, not all clients are good candidates for permanent makeup due to the existence of certain contraindicated skin conditions or pre-existing medical conditions. If you have a contraindicated skin condition you may not retain colour well and thus may not be entirely satisfied with your outcome.

What Can I Expect After a Microblading Procedure?

The healing process after a microblading procedure varies from client to client based on many factors. This could include, but is not limited to: the artist's technique, pigments used, aftercare instructions, whether or not shading was done, as well as just overall how someone's body and skin reacts to the procedure. Some of the most common things clients you can expect after a microblading procedure are:

Tenderness in the area
Pink or redness around the affected area
Swelling
Thickening and darkening of the area
Moderate to thick scabbing 3-4 days after the procedure
Scabs will begin to flake off anytime between days 5 - 10
After scabs flake off, pigment color and strokes will look light, grey, and blurry
After the area is fully healed (4 weeks after the procedure) the pigment will return to full color

I have an amazing tan right now- can I still have a procedure?

If your are excessively tanned or you have a sunburn, a procedure is not recommended. Wait for the skin to fully heal and return to your natural complexion before going ahead.
